What is Vitacid used for?
Vitacid is a drug in the form of a cream to get rid of acne. Vitacid is an ointment containing tretinoin or retinoic acid (retinoic acid).
This ointment acne remedy helps reduce acne growth, relieves the pain of inflammatory acne, and speeds up the healing process of inflamed acne.
In addition, this drug can also help treat, control, reduce, and improve the condition of dry, rough, and wrinkled skin. Vitacids work by affecting the growth of cells in the skin.
What are the rules for using Vitacid?
Vitacid is used by applying directly to problem skin. But first, make sure you wash your hands and clean the target skin area first before using this medicine.
Wait until the skin is completely dry after cleansing, then use this remedy. Use your finger, cotton swab, or cotton swab to dispense a small amount of the medicine and then apply it lightly to the skin.
This medication is usually taken once a day at bedtime, or as directed by a doctor. This medicine should only be used on the skin. Avoid using on the lips, nose, mouth, the area around the eyes, and on skin that is injured or has eczema.
In case of accidental contact with eyes, wash with water and contact a doctor immediately if irritation occurs. Wash your hands immediately after using this medicine to prevent accidental eye contact. In order to get maximum results, use this drug regularly.

How to store this medicine?
Vitacids are best stored at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and damp places. Do not store in the bathroom. Don’t freeze.
Other brands of this drug may have different storage rules. Pay attention to the storage instructions on the product packaging or ask your pharmacist. Keep all medicines out of reach of children and pets.
Do not flush medication down the toilet or down the drain unless instructed to do so. Discard this product when it has expired or when it is no longer needed.

What is the dose of Vitacid for adults?
Here are the recommended doses of Vitacid for adults:
Vitacid dosage for acne in adults
Initial dose: apply a small amount, thinly, on the area of acne or problem skin once a day before going to bed.
Inflammation of acne may worsen during the initial phase of therapy (3-4 weeks after first use) due to the effects of tretinoin on the skin.
The healing process occurs gradually and the final results are not seen until 6-12 weeks or more. The use of Vitacid should still be done until new pimples no longer appear on the skin for several months, or after the desired results are achieved.
For cases of worsening acne (acne exacerbation) which can also occur during the initial phase of therapy (3-4 weeks) as a result of the action of tretinoin on subclinical comedones. The dose thereafter may have to be reduced after long-term use.
What is the dose of Vitacid for children?
The safety and effectiveness of this drug have not been established in pediatric patients (less than 18 years of age).
In what dosages and preparations is this drug available?
Vitacid is available in an ointment or cream for adults. The content is tretinoid or retinoic acid (retinoic acid), which belongs to the type of vitamin A derivatives.
This drug is available in 3 packages according to the percent tretinoid content in it, namely Vitacid 0.05%, Vitacid 0.025%, and Vitacid 0.1%.
What are the possible side effects of Vitacid?
There are several possible side effects of using this drug. Stop using the drug and consult a doctor immediately if you experience one or more of the following side effects:
Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat
Changed skin color
Sensitivity to sunlight
These side effects don’t always happen to everyone. There may be some side effects not mentioned above.
